Shinshi Doumei Cross Chapter 43

The Story: Shizumasa was actually a good guy. To him, if Haine and Takanari were by his side, he would be very happy.
Shizumasa was doing some works in his room and Senri came in to ask him to sleep. Shizumasa refuse to as there is no school tomorrow. He asked Touya to leave the room while Senri told Shizumasa that he shouldn't go back to school due to his illness and his condition will get worse. Shizumasa suffered the same illness that his mother suffered. Senri asked Shizumasa isn't he hates lowering his head to Takanari, he answered 'Yes'. He asked him is pride more important than life, he answered 'Yes'. Senri asked him what is he planning to do with Haine. He replied to him that he would make Haine the same as him.
When Shizumasa was young, he exchanged his cowardly heart with an important bond. 10 years ago, both Takanari and Shizumasa were very close together until the test to become the heir of Tougu family came. The night before the test, Shizumasa overheard the conversation about the test, he was afraid to become a shadow and living like a jail forever. Since young, his health has been very poor. Shizumasa could not sleep well after he heard the conversation. The test begin as their grandfather asked them to find the stones that carved their names on it in the woods. Takanari didn't know that it was a test and so he was excited, while Shizumasa had a troubled look on his face. Shizumasa thought that Takanari would be the first person found the stones as he is faster and stronger than him. He found the stones at a waterfall pond. He took his stone and turn around, but his mind thought that Takanari would beat him if he found his stone. Shizumasa took Takanari's stone and throw it away. Just in time, Takanari arrived while Shizumasa hid himself into the bushes. Takanari found his stone near the cliff and trying to get it. Unfortunely, the stone fall off and Takanari was hanging onto the cliff, calling for help. Shizumasa came out from his hiding and saw Takanari. Takanari called for his help, but Shizumasa was scared and ran away. Takanari was then fall off the cliff and declared dead when he was hospitalised, Shizumasa became the heir. He asked Takanari whether he hates him, Takanari gives him a fierce look with an eye full of anger which Shizumasa would never forget.
Haine was at home together with Kasuga, she received a call from Kazuhito about the engagement. The engagement is held tomorrow at Takanari's and Shizumasa's grandfather residence. Kasuga thinks that Takanari is probably in a jail cell. Haine is definitely don't want to be engage to Shizumasa, but she is going tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Shizumasa went to the jail cell to visit Takanari. Takanari's hands are tied with ropes and he was trying to escape before Shizumasa arrived. Shizumasa told Takanari that he is going to be engaged to Haine and he is not letting him to get in his way. He asked Takanari whether he hates him. With an anger look, Takanari answered 'Yes!' and pushes Shizumasa onto the wall. The servants panicked, but Shizumasa told them it's fine. He told Takanari if he hates him that much, why don't...without ending his sentence, Shizumasa had a sudden attack of illness. He knee down and coughing until blood came out from his mouth and pass out. The servants went panicked and called for ambulane while Takanari just stood there looking at Shizumasa. He saw a handkerchief drop out from Shizumasa's pockets and noticed it was his handkerchief that was used to cover Shizumasa's injury.(the time when Haine wants to burn the Kamiya residence) Takanari was then realised that the truth about Shizumasa. Shizumasa was immediately sent to hospital. In his mind, he was thinking about the question that he just asked Takanari. When reaching the hospital with Touya and Takanari by his side, he unconsiously told Takanari to kill him. Shizumasa hoped that Takanari would not forgive him for leaving him when he was going to fall off the cliff as he was afraid to be trapped in the jail. He thinks that it will be very soon for Takanari to be the heir of Tougu family if he die and no one would complain. His last wish is for his last moments, he wants Haine to be with him. And so Shizumasa hoped Takanari will not forgive him.

Haine is a happy, energetic girl whose in love with the school's Koutei(Emperor)/President, Shizumasa. She was once a Yankee (delinquent) until she met Shizumasa one fateful day. He told her to live her life the way she wanted. From that day onwards, she strives to make her life better and fell deeply in love with him. She even chased him to his school, the Imperial Academy (School for the rich and wealthy).

She lives with her foster family (the Otomiya) whom she pays as gratitude for allowing her to live with them. So she had to work part time jobs, even at school. Haine also has a good friend named Ushio, whose kinda weird. Ushio really loves Haine (as a friend) and Haine is her most precious person.

Haine hasn't had contact with Shizumasa ever since that fateful day. She notices he never smiles anymore and wonders why. One day Shizumasa goes missing, and that's when Maguri, Maora and other weird people were introduced. Later, Haine was tricked into becoming Shizumasa's bodyguard!

The Ranks and their Privileges
In Imperial Academy, the students are put into one of the three groups(Because it is a rich and famous school) and each students is having their own armband and badge. The three groups are Gold, Silver and Copper. The highest rank is Gold, followed by is Silver and the lowest rank is Copper.

There are points for every ranks as the points can help the students to promote to another ranks. The students has to earn ten thousand points to get to promote to another rank. But besides earning points to promote, the students also can ask their parents to donate a large amount of money to the school and they will immediately promoted. Therefore, in Imperial Academy, most students are in Silver rank.

The privileges for Copper students, they can use the student caferia and must wear school uniforms. For Silver students, they can enter the Aerial Garden(the garden that Copper students cannot enter, if enter, points will be taken away) and can use a better caferia and even allowed to wear their favourite clothes as their school uniform. For Gold students, they are given privacy and have the highest authority.

Besides the three ranks, there is also a special rank. It is called "Platinum" and only the lover of the Koutei get this special rank. This rank is higher than the Silver rank and Copper rank.

Koutei
"Koutei" mean Emperor and in Imperial Academy student council, the president is known as the Emperor and has the highest authority and respect. The Emperor is the only one that allowed to be in Gold rank.

Koutei Council
It is a council that organised by those who are Koutei before to join and get to know what is happening in the Imperial Academy after they have graduated. This council is higher than the Imperial Academy student council, therefore for some events, the student council need to get the Koutei council approve and let them know about it.
